Fringe, Frills & Studs

It took almost two months to organize, but I finally managed to hold a photo shoot for the Scarlettfly Autumn/Winter 2010 collection which has officially been named Fringe, Frills & Studs!

There was a lot of work to do. A lot more than I imagined there would be, I stayed up the night before to try and get everything prepared.

The shoot started at 10am, once the photographer, models and make-up artist had arrived we all got started.

Everyone worked really hard so a special thank you to all involved.

I've Been Busy... But I'm Back!

It's been far too long since my last post, but I have been busy working on many things. Here are some of them :) ....

During London Fashion Week I showcased my first collection at Boujis nightclub in London's South Kensington.

It was an amazing opportunity and a HUGE learning experience, but I loved every minute of it and here is a little snapshot of what went down that week!

So...

As usualy, I left everything until the last minute! I kept changing my mind and finally came up with an idea three weeks before the show!

I went fabric shopping and couldn't find ANYTHING I had set my little heart on :( So i ended up wondering aimlessly around Balham until I came across a small fabric shop which was MAGICAL and had everything I needed :D I ended up going back about five times because I kept running out of stuff. Here it is...

So I called some trusty friends round to help me out....by the end of the night my room was a mess and kinda smelt like a brewery :/ but it was fun!

Eventually the girls had to leave and I worked through the night to get everything finished off and had a nap at around 6am - woke up at 7! I did some last minute stitching then hopped into a cab up to South Kensington where the show was being held.

It was in some fancy nightclub and the other designers showcasing (there were three others) had brought their army of assistants and stylists....I turned up > alone < .

I was SO nervous but I had to get on with the model fittings, I had some assistants helping me out and everyone was really lovely :)

While the models were in hair and make-up I had hours and hours to chill out. But of course I couldn't relax and the more time went on the more I realised the show would be soon and I got more and more nervous! Then my friend Nathan turned up and i felt better :)Finally the show began! My collection was first :s but I was excited and in the end everything turned out fine!

So I spent the weeks after the show working on some stuff and trying to decide where and how I'm going to sell the collection. I've finally decided it will be available directly from me :)

The website is under construction but you will be able to visit it and order from this colleciton very soon!

I'm working on some other projects aswell which I'll let you know about.
